Acu – Stimulation
Acu-Stim can improve the immune system's response to fighting illness. It can also work as a natural antidepressant by enhancing moods and reducing cravings, while at the same time improving stress management ability.
The response to Acu-Stim improves as each treatment builds upon the changes of the previous session.
For long lasting effect, Acu-Stim is required on a regular and consistent basis. This also speeds up the healing process needed for the body to make necessary adjustments to feel 'normal again'. Treatments can be reduced to a weekly session, then monthly, or as and when required.
Indian Head Massage
Indian head massage is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system. It has been practised in India for over a thousand years, originally by women who used the technique to keep their hair thick, healthy and in beautiful condition.
Mr Narenda Metha introduced this form of head massage to the west in 1981. Mr Metha an osteopath and massage therapist had been blind since the age of one. Mr Metha extended the techniques to include the neck, shoulders, upper arms, face and ears, unlike the traditional massage which was restricted to the head only.
The head, neck and shoulders contain important energy centres. Feeling stressed or angry, can lead to tension accumulating in these areas. This tension can later show up as a stiff neck and shoulders, eye strain and sometimes even hair loss.
Indian Head Massage involves working with a firm and gentle rhythm to help undo the blockages and relieve this uncomfortable build-up of tension. However, its effects are not just physical. It works on an energy level too, calming the mind, promoting relaxation and relieving stress.
Auricular acupuncture involves the gentle placement of five small sterile disposable needles into specific points on each ear. The client then sits quietly in a relaxed setting for 15-30mins during the treatment. Acupuncture treatment for addictions has proven to be more effective when combined with other supports such as, counselling, 1 to 1 and group support.
Some of the benefits of auricular acupuncture are:
- Relief from stress and anxiety
- Minimised withdrawal symptoms
- Reduced cravings
- Increased calmness
- Improved sleep
