Aftercare Group

Our aftercare group is an abstinence based group which takes place once a week on a Thursday evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.  

The group is facilitated by two highly skilled members of staff, who support group members in facing difficulties they encounter in their new abstinent lifestyle. Please see attached Aftercare group preamble and ground rules to get a better understanding of what our group is about.

The criteria for attending this group are that any individual who wishes to become a member of the aftercare group are

• Over 18 years old.
• Committed to attend aftercare sessions for a minimum of six months.
• At the time of referral have two weeks abstinence from mood altering substances which includes alcohol.

Individuals are eligible to become a member of the group if they are on medication that is not a treatment for their addiction. Some medications that are prescribed for treatment for addiction which are non-mood altering are permitted, i.e. Antibuse & Camprol (anti craving medication).
